2023-2024 Centennial Wrestling Folkstyle Season

Welcome to the 2023-2024 Youth Folkstyle Wrestling Registration with Centennial Wrestling!

This registration is for the the Centennial Youth Wrestling Club located in Minnesota.  The Centennial Youth Wrestling season will start Wednesday, November 1st 2023 and is open to all PreK-5th Graders.  This season we are offering two registration options and three different practice times based typically by birth year.  Expect to receive an email no later than October 31st confirming your recommended practice group.

 

SEASON REGISTRATION OPTIONS 

  • Option 1 - Full Season
    • Season Dates:  November 1st – February 22nd (16 weeks)
    • Practice Nights:  Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.  Make all or make as many as you can!
    • Cost:  $250 + (4hrs of volunteer time per family or $100)
    • Volunteer Time: 
      • If volunteer time has not been completed a $100 transaction will occur at the end of February.
      • A few events (home tournaments) will be available for completing volunteer time.
      • Large variety of volunteer roles such as the following will be available:  concessions, weigh-in, check-in, security, table worker, admissions table and pairings.
      • DIBS will be setup at a later date for volunteer sign up.
    • Included with your Registration:  Free t-shirt handed out on photo night, MNUSA Wrestling Card, access to Wrestling Mindset Sessions and Optional Championship Season Extension.
      • Championship Season Extension:
        • February 27th - March 28th
        • Intended for all wrestlers who plan to compete in either the MNUSA State Tournament or NYWA State Tournaments in March. 
  • Option 2 - First Half Season
    • Season Dates:  November 1st – December 21st (8 weeks)
    • Cost:  $150
    • Volunteer Time:  No volunteer time required.
    • Practice Nights:  Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.  Make all or make as many as you can!
    • Included with your registration:  Free t-shirt handed out on on photo night, MNUSA Wrestling Card and access to Wrestling Mindset Sessions.

**NEW REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT: PROFILE PICTURES**

  • Starting last year during the 2022-2023 season, the MN/USA wrestling association required all wrestlers in Minnesota to have a profile picture on their MN/USA Wrestling cards. 
  • Because of this, all registrants will be required to upload a picture of the athlete during this registration process.  Please have a current profile picture cropped and ready to be added in the next few steps of the sign up process.

PRACTICE TIMES

  • First Half Season and Full Season Wrestlers
    • Tuesday/Thursday
      • 6:30-7:30pm - Session One (Upper Wrestling Room)
        • Pee-Wee and Bantam Wrestlers 
          • Wrestler's birth year is 2016, or younger, with no experience
      • 6:00-7:00pm - Session Two (Main Wrestling Room)
        • Bantam, Intermediate, and Novice  Wrestlers
          • Wrestler's birth year is 2010-2016 with 1+ years experience
      • 7:15-8:30pm - Session Three ( Main Wrestling Room)
        • Intermediate, Novice and Schoolboy
          • Wrestler's birth year is 2009-2015 with advanced skills
    • Wednesday
      • 6:00-7:30pm
        • Intended for Advanced wrestlers.  Focus will be on Live/Situational Wrestling.  This is intended for wrestlers that will be competing in a lot of tournaments during the season.
  • Championship Season Extension - Begins March 1st
    • Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday
      • 6:00-7:15pm
        • Intended for wrestlers who registered for the full season who plan to compete in the MNUSA and/or NYWA State Tournament – All Grades

PRACTICE PROCEDURE

  • We encourage all parents to let the coaches coach the kids and remain in the hallway.  
  • Give yourself adequate time to get shoes laced before practice.  Practice will start on time. 
  • Before entering the wrestling mat all wrestlers will sanitize hands and apply a skin defense product called Pure&Clean Defense provided by Club on bare skin areas (legs and arms).
  • What to bring: water bottle, t-shirt and shorts with no zippers and clean running shoes.  Wrestling shoes and head gear are recommended but not required.   
  • Coaches will sanitize mats before each practice.  

AFTER PRACTICE PROCEDURE

  • It is very important that all wrestlers shower shortly after they get home from practice. 
  • Wrestlers should wipe down all equipment (shoes/headgear) after each practice.
  • Clean clothes after each practice.

    • New to our Program:  If you are new to our program, be sure to note who referred you to our program in the proper field with in the registration as they will be eligible for a fantastic referral reward!
